Little brown bats and big brown bats

Essex County Environmental Center issued the following announcement.

Little brown bats (Myotis lucifugus) and big brown bats (Eptesicus fuscus) are the most likely to roost in man-made structures. They've been given the nickname, "house bats." 

Other NJ species that will make use of artificial places include northern long-eared bats (Myotis septentrionalis) and sometimes-even Indiana bats (Myotis sodalis), an endangered species throughout its range.
