The New Jersey Devils secured a 5-3 victory against the Tampa Bay Lightning in their recent matchup. The game featured notable performances from both teams and several key moments that shaped the outcome.

Arseny Gritsyuk made an impact early, providing a significant pass to Brown, who scored after driving through the middle of the ice. This assist marked Gritsyuk’s first NHL point. Amanda Stein shared on social media, “What an unbelievable pass from Arseny Gritsyuk streaking down the flank. Finds Brown driving through the middle of the ice and it was perfection. First NHL point for Arseny.”

Nico Hischier contributed by scoring after retrieving the puck behind the net and wrapping it around Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy, giving New Jersey a 3-0 lead in the first period.

In response, Tampa Bay narrowed the gap in the second period with goals from Gourde and Ryan McDonagh. Despite these efforts, Devils goaltender Markstrom made several important saves throughout all three periods.

During the third period, Jesper Bratt scored a shorthanded goal on a breakaway to increase New Jersey’s lead. Connor Brown then netted his second goal of the game, restoring a three-goal advantage for the Devils. Tampa Bay’s Raddysh later scored following a favorable bounce but could not close the deficit further.

For this game, Zack MacEwen made his debut for New Jersey as he entered the lineup due to Dadonov’s injury absence.

Both teams presented full lineups with Markstrom starting in goal for New Jersey and Vasilevskiy for Tampa Bay.
