New Jersey Devils announce opening roster for 2025-26 NHL season

The New Jersey Devils have released their official roster for the start of the 2025-26 NHL season. The announcement comes ahead of their season opener against the Carolina Hurricanes, scheduled for Thursday, October 9 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+/Hulu and available on the Devils Hockey Network as well as the New Jersey Devils/Prudential Center app.

The roster includes a mix of forwards, defensemen, and goalies. Among the forwards are Stefan Noesen, Cody Glass, Nico Hischier, Connor Brown, Ondrej Palat, Shane Lachance, Marc McLaughlin, Timo Meier, Lenni Hameenaho, Evgenii Dadonov, Jesper Bratt, Arseny Gritsyuk, Juho Lammikko, Jack Hughes, and Dawson Mercer.

On defense are Brenden Dillon, Dougie Hamilton, Johnathan Kovacevic, Simon Nemec, Brett Pesce, Seamus Casey (listed as injured reserve), Luke Hughes, Dennis Cholowski, Jonas Siegenthaler, and Paul Cotter.

Goaltenders Jacob Markstrom and Jake Allen round out the team’s roster.

Players marked with a plus sign are listed as injured or non-roster at this time. Those with a minus sign are on injured reserve.
