Martin Brodeur has been named a member of the New Jersey Hall of Fame’s 2025 class. The induction ceremony is scheduled for November 21, 2025. This recognition marks Brodeur’s third Hall of Fame induction. He was previously inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2018 and the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 2019. Additionally, he received the Order of Sport in Canada.

Brodeur’s career is closely associated with New Jersey, where he set numerous NHL records and secured three championships with the Devils. His journey began at age 19 when he was drafted 20th overall in the 1990 Entry Draft, leading to a legendary career that saw him become a pivotal figure in all three of the Devils’ Stanley Cup victories.

Brodeur holds several records, including being the all-time leader in wins (691), shutouts (125), and games played (1266). He achieved eight seasons with over 40 wins and is noted for his unique ability to handle the puck, which influenced a rule change in the NHL regarding goaltender puck-handling areas.

His impact on hockey extended beyond his playing years as his style contributed to league-wide changes. Although not officially credited to Brodeur’s abilities, it is believed that his influence led to the implementation of specific rules regarding goalie play.

Congratulations are extended to Martin Brodeur on this latest achievement.
