The New Jersey Devils prospects will conclude their participation in the 2025 Prospects Challenge with a game against the Boston Bruins on Sunday at noon in Buffalo, New York. The game can be watched on the team’s official website or listened to via the Devils Hockey Network.

The Devils have won both of their opening games in the tournament. Tyler Brennan was in goal for an 8-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets, and Jakub Malek secured a 4-2 victory against the Buffalo Sabres. For Sunday’s matchup, Trenton Bennett is set to start as goaltender, which means each of the three netminders on the roster will have played a full game during the event.

Seamus Casey and Shane Lachance are expected to be scratches for this final contest, according to Saturday’s practice lines and pairings.

Nathan Lecompte, who joined camp as an invitee, leads all Devils players with four points from three goals and one assist. Four other players have collected three points each: defenseman Mikael Diotte (two goals, one assist), forwards Shane Lachance (two goals, one assist), and Tag Bertuzzi (three assists).

The Boston Bruins have played only one game so far in this tournament, losing 2-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. Mavrick Lachance scored Boston’s only goal in that game.

Among notable prospects for Sunday’s game is Lenni Hämeenaho for the Devils. The team’s second-round pick from 2023 scored his first goal of the tournament against Buffalo. Head coach Ryan Parent has used Hämeenaho in various situations throughout the games. “In his second game, he was more of a driver on his line, which is something the coaching staff hopes will continue.”

For Boston, Fraser Minten is a player to watch. Minten was acquired from Toronto last March and has split time between NHL and AHL teams in both organizations. He has played 25 NHL games so far with three goals and two assists. “He’s a player that is expected to challenge for a spot on the Bruins lineup as one of the young players pushing to make their mark.”
