The New Jersey Devils are set to begin a five-game road trip, starting with a matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks at the United Center. The team recently completed a three-game homestand with a 3-0-1 record and currently holds a league-best home record of 7-0-1, remaining undefeated in regulation on home ice. At the time of publication, the Devils lead the Eastern Conference standings with 23 points.

After their overtime loss to the New York Islanders, which marked their first home defeat this season, the Devils will travel over the next two weeks with stops in Chicago, Washington, both Florida teams, and Philadelphia. The trip is split into two segments; after facing Washington, the team will return to New Jersey for practice before resuming their travels.

Chicago has seen improvement as they rebuild under new head coach Dan Bylsma. Rookie Connor Bedard, selected first overall in 2023, has started strong with 25 points in 16 games (9 goals and 16 assists). Bedard has been held off the scoresheet only four times this season and is currently on an eight-game point streak.

Goaltender Spencer Knight, acquired at the 2025 trade deadline, has become a key player for Chicago. He holds a 6-3-2 record with a 2.33 goals against average and a .926 save percentage.

For New Jersey, Timo Meier has contributed two goals in his last three games and has four points over his last five appearances. On Chicago’s side, Bedard leads recent performance with 11 points in his last five games.

The Devils’ current six-game winning streak against Chicago ties their franchise record for consecutive wins over the Blackhawks. It is also their longest active winning streak against any opponent. Over their last six games since October 30, New Jersey’s penalty kill has been effective at 91.7%, stopping 11 out of 12 attempts.

Several players from both teams are listed as injured or day-to-day ahead of tonight’s game.

The teams will meet again later this season on March 29 in New Jersey.
