The New Jersey Devils are set to face the Dallas Stars on March 24 as they continue their five-game road trip, starting a three-game stretch against southern teams. The game is scheduled for an 8:08 p.m. ET puck drop at the American Airlines Center.

This game holds significance for both teams as the Devils aim to improve their position in the Metropolitan Division while the Stars look to maintain momentum in the Central Division. With only 13 games left in the regular season, every point is crucial for New Jersey’s playoff hopes.

The Devils enter Texas after a narrow 2-1 loss to the Washington Capitals and currently hold a record of 35-32-2, placing them seventh in their division. Despite recent improvements—winning seven of their last ten games—the team has struggled with offensive consistency, averaging just 2.65 goals per game this season. However, their power play conversion rate stands at a solid 22.6%, and since returning from the Olympic break, they rank just outside the top ten in goals scored per game.

Dallas comes into Tuesday night’s matchup following a close home defeat by Vegas but remains strong at home with a record of 22-9-4 and sits second in its division with 97 points. In their previous meeting back in December, Dallas shut out New Jersey by a score of 3-0 at Prudential Center.

Key players include Jack Hughes for New Jersey—who has recorded ten points over his last five games—and Jason Robertson for Dallas, who leads his team with four points over that same span and boasts an impressive season total of eighty-two points so far.

Injuries remain a concern on both sides: Brett Pesce (lower body), Stefan Noesen (knee), and Zack MacEwen (upper body) are sidelined for New Jersey; Mikko Rantanen (lower body), Roope Hintz (lower body), Radek Faksa (upper body), and Tyler Seguin (ACL) are out for Dallas.

Tonight’s contest also marks defenseman Dougie Hamilton’s nine-hundredth career NHL game—a milestone achievement as both teams push toward playoff contention.
