The New Jersey Devils will host the Philadelphia Flyers in the final game of their season series at Prudential Center on April 7, with puck drop scheduled for 7:08 p.m. Eastern Time.

This matchup carries significance as both teams are nearing the end of their regular-season schedules and fighting for postseason implications. The Devils have five games remaining and aim to finish strong, while the Flyers are holding onto a playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division.

The Devils recently went 1-0-1 against Montreal, including snapping the Canadiens’ ten-game winning streak. New Jersey has won eight of its last twelve games. Recent victories over Washington, Nashville, and Boston have impacted league standings, and tonight’s game could further affect playoff positioning for both teams.

Jack Hughes was named NHL’s Second Star of the Week after scoring three goals and nine points in four games. The team also announced that general manager Tom Fitzgerald has parted ways with the organization. Timo Meier is currently on a hot streak with seven goals and eleven points in his past twelve games.

On the other side, Philadelphia enters this contest having won eight out of its last eleven games and sits in a Wild Card spot following recent wins over New York Islanders (4-1) and Boston (2-1 OT). Despite having one of the league’s lowest-ranked offenses, defenses, power play (15.2%), and penalty kill units (20th), they remain competitive late in the season.

Injury reports list several players out or questionable for both sides: Gritsyuk is out for New Jersey following surgery; Pesce, Noesen, and MacEwen are also sidelined with various injuries. For Philadelphia, Abols and Grebenkin are listed with lower-body injuries.

Philadelphia won both previous meetings this season—6-3 at home on November 22nd and 5-3 on November 29th at Prudential Center.
