Conrad Fondrk experienced a pivotal moment in his hockey career when he was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the second round, 50th overall, during the 2025 NHL Draft. Surrounded by friends and family at his aunt’s house on Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota-native Fondrk celebrated this significant achievement.
Reflecting on the event, Fondrk expressed his excitement: “Just having a little get-together with people who have been with me along the way,” adding that it was “probably the best day of my life.” He described New Jersey as an “awesome spot.”
Fondrk is known for his strong shot and playmaking abilities. “It’s definitely one of my better strengths—my release and the power that I get on it,” he noted. Elite Prospects highlights his skills as both a shooter and passer, making him a scoring threat.
Next year, Fondrk will join Boston University to play for the Terriers under coach Jay Pandolfo, a former New Jersey Devil. His decision to commit to BU was influenced by its coaching staff. “The coaching staff is unbelievable,” he stated. Fondrk aims to contribute significantly to the team despite recovering from a fibula injury sustained in March while playing with the U.S. National Team Development Program.
Looking forward to his future with both Boston University and potentially wearing a Devils jersey, Fondrk remains focused on recovery and development. “I couldn’t be more excited to be part of this team,” he said about joining the Devils.
